Detailed Itinerary

Day 1-6: Kilimanjaro hiking

You will spend the first 6 days of your 10-day safari on Mt. Kilimanjaro. There are several established routes visitors can take on to summit the Kilimanjaro Mountain at Uhuru peak. For this safari, you will use the Machame route, which is a very popular route on the mountain with beautiful panoramic views.

Accommodation is in tents at camps that will be sent up for you by your climbing crew. The campsites on this route include; Machame camp, Shira camp, Barranco camp, Barafu camp and Mweka camp. You will go through different mountain vegetation zones with change in elevation; rainforest, moorland, alpine desert and the snowcapped summit.

On day 6, when you return from the mountain, your safari guide will be waiting for you at Mweka gate to drive you to your hotel in Arusha town where you will have from a long awaited long warm shower, celebrate your great accomplishment and spend the night.

Day 7: Arusha – Rest Day

This day is yours to spend at leisure, relaxing and recovering from the mountain climb. Reminisce about your time on Mt. Kilimanjaro and at Uhuru peak. Later in the day when you feel well rested, you can take a stroll in Arusha town.

Day 8: To Lake Manyara national park

Early morning rise and breakfast and after transfer to Lake Manyara national park. Embark on a game drive once you reach the park exploring its different habitats especially Lake Manyara that covers most of the park area for chances of spotting the different animals that call the park home like lions, buffalos, wildebeests, elephants, hippos, flamingos and more.

Day 9: To Tarangire national park

Exit Lake Manyara national park in the early morning after your breakfast and with packed food for lunch in the wild, you will set out to Tarangire national park home of the elephants of Tanzania and the interesting ancient baobab trees. You will explore the remote vast park on a full day game drive retiring to your lodge for the night by sunset.

Day 10: End of safari

Have a leisure morning and breakfast at your lodge in Tarangire national park before packing your bags and checking out. Your safari driver guide will drive you back to Arusha and take you to the airport for your flight.
