Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: To Lake Manyara National Park – Game drive

Your safari starts with a pick up from the airport or the hotel in Arusha town and you embark of a scenic road trip with beautiful landscapes and a brief stop at the Mto wa Mbu town to experience different Tanzania cultures as over 100 Tanzania tribes are represented her. Proceed to Lake Manyara national park arriving at your lodge in time for lunch. Later in the afternoon, embark on a game drive around Lake Manyara looking out for tree climbing lions, hippos, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, monkeys, baboons, wildebeests, impalas among others. Return to your lodge for the night.

Day 2: To Serengeti national park

Early breakfast and departure from Lake Manyara national park heading to the endless plains of Serengeti national park. You will pack food for a picnic lunch. Enjoy some morning wildlife sightings as you drive out of Lake Manyara on a scenic drive through Karatu. After about 5 hours, you will arrive in the vast Serengeti national park and you embark on a game drive exploring the heart of Serengeti, the Seronera region which always teems with a variety of animal and bird life, during and outside the migration period.

Look out for lions, hyenas, wildebeests, buffalos, hippos, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, giraffes, rhinos, gazelles, hartebeests, waterbucks, dik-diks and more. You will have you picnic lunch and continue with your game viewing experience. Later in the day drive to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: To Ngorongoro Conservation area

Early morning game drive in Serengeti national park or an optional hot air balloon trip over the Serengeti after which you exit the park and drive to Ngorongoro conservation area. Embark on a game drive on arrival in Ngorongoro exploring the areas around the crater including the Gol Mountains and Ndutu plains. Overnight at your lodge in Ngorongoro.

Day 4: Ngorongoro crater drive and transfer to Tarangire national park

Rise up early and drive to the crater rim from where you will descend 600 meters into the world’s largest unbroken caldera, Ngorongoro crater for a thrilling wildlife viewing experience on a 4-5-hour game drive on the craters’ floor exploring its different habitats. Expect to see the big 5; black rhinos, lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards, hippos, wildebeests, jackals, bat-eared foxes, zebras, birds like herons, bustards, sunbirds, flamingos, plovers, vultures among others. Break off for your wilderness picnic lunch and after ascend back to the crater rim and then embark on your journey to Tarangire national park arriving later in the day for a brief game drive as you drive to your accommodation for a relaxing evening, dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Morning game drive in Tarangire and Departure

On the last day of your safari, you will explore Tarangire national park on a rewarding morning game drive. Be up early to take on a pre-sunrise game drive in the home of Tanzania’s elephants and ancient giant baobab trees. Drive to the Tarangire River for excellent animal and bird sightings. Spot animals like elephants, lions, hippos, buffalos, giraffes, different antelope species, cheetahs, hyenas, zebras among others. Return to the lodge for a mid-morning breakfast. Check out and be transferred back to Arusha to the airport. For your home bound flight or to another tourist destination.
