Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara national park
Pick up from the airport or your hotel in Arusha by the safari guide driver that will be with you for the entire week during your Tanzania safari. Enjoy the scenic views as you journey to Lake Manyara national park. You will embark on a full day game viewing experience on rewarding game drives looking out for the unique tree climbing lions, Maasai giraffes, zebras, impalas, wildebeests, warthogs, waterbucks, elephants and as you drive to the soda lake, expect to see lots of flamingos and other water birds including egrets, pelicans, herons, storks and more. Have your picnic lunch and continue with your wilderness exploration of the beautiful Lake Manyara national park. Call it a day and drive to your accommodation facility, check in and have a relaxing evening and overnight.
Day 2-3: To Serengeti national park
After you breakfast, you transfer to Serengeti national park where you will spend day 2 and 3. Serengeti national park is the most popular protected area in Tanzania and the most visited. Famously known for the wildebeest migration, Serengeti has a lot to offer even when the migration is silent. Explore the vast plains encountering lots of wildebeests, buffalos, zebras, gazelles, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, elands, giraffes, jackals, leopards, rhinos, warthogs, baboons, monkeys, dik-diks, waterbucks, klipspringers among others. Optional activities include walking safaris (guided) and hot air balloon safaris.
Day 4-5: To Ngorongoro conservation area
After exploring the Serengeti plains, you will set out, driving to the Ngorongoro conservation area where humans and the wildlife co-exist. This conservation area is home to the world’s largest intact caldera, the famous Ngorongoro crater that you will get to explore on a thrilling and adventurous game drive on its floor. The crater alone hosts over 25,000 animals and a diverse birdlife including flamingos that breed in the soda lake at the floor of the crater. Animals to encounter in Ngorongoro include lions, hyenas, wildebeests, zebras, elephants, hippos, black rhinos, gazelles, buffalos, jackals, warthogs among others. Get to visit the Olduvai gorge and also go on a cultural tour to one of the neighboring Maasai communities.
Day 6: To Tarangire national park
After your breakfast, you will transfer to Tanzania’s 3rd largest national park, Tarangire national park, famously known for its giant baobab trees that dot its plains and having the largest elephant herds in Tanzania. Take on game drives to explore this unique park driving to Tarangire River, the lifeline of the park’s wildlife. On top of the elephants, expect to see zebras, lions, buffalos, hippos, wildebeests, gazelles, giraffes and more.
Day 7: End of safari
