Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park
Pick up from the airport or your hotel in Arusha town and transfer to Lake Manyara national park, your first destination on this 4-day safari to North Tanzania. On arrival, you will embark on a short game drive introducing you to the Lake Manyara wilderness. Drive to your safari camp / lodge to check in and have lunch and relax.
Later in the afternoon, head back out in the park driving to the soda lake, Lake Manyara to explore areas around its shores for exciting wildlife viewings including the thousands of flamingos that flood the lake’s shallow ends and other hundreds of bird species, also look out for elephants, tree climbing lions, buffalos, hippos, wildebeests, giraffes, monkeys, olive baboons, impalas, waterbucks among others. Return to your safari camp for a relaxing evening and overnight.
Day 2: Transfer to Serengeti National Park
After your breakfast, depart Lake Manyara to Serengeti national park on a scenic drive through the beautiful highlands of Ngorongoro and farmlands of Karatu. Arrive in Serengeti at your lodge in time for lunch after which you will embark on a game drive in the vast endless plains of Serengeti national park teeming with a variety of different animal and bird species. Millions of wildebeests, thousands of zebras, gazelles, impalas, elands, lions, leopards, hyenas, giraffes, baboons, elephants, buffalos, rhinos, hippos and more. Overnight back at your safari camp.
Day 3: Serengeti – Game drive to Ngorongoro conservation area
On the morning of this day, you can opt to go for a hot air balloon safari or take on an early morning game drive to watch the wildlife at their most active time as they start off their day. Later, depart for Ngorongoro conservation area, home to the famous Ngorongoro crater. Arive at your safari camp / lodge in time for lunch. After which you head out on a late afternoon game drive exploration of the plains of Ngorongoro. Overnight back at the safari camp.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater drive and departure
Have an early breakfast and then drive to the world’s largest caldera, the Ngorongoro crater for an exciting game drive experience. Over 25,000 animals inhabit the unbroken caldera. Including the African big 5; lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, buffalos, cheetahs, wildebeest, elands, hippos, hyenas, waterbucks, zebras, monkeys, among other wildlife.
Drive across the crater floor to the soda lake for beautiful birdlife sightings and more animals sightings. Take a break to have your lunch. After ascend from the crater and your safari driver will drive you back to Arusha. This brings you to the end of your safari.
