Detailed Itineray
Day 1: Arusha to Lake Natron
After your breakfast at the hotel in Arusha, you will be met by your tour guide driver who will then drive you further North on a scenic journey to Lake Natron, a very alkaline shallow lake at the bottom of the great rift valley. Arriving in the afternoon, drive straight to you lodge for check in and a delicious lunch. Later in the afternoon, you will go on a guided hike or walk leading to Engaresero waterfall as you enjoy the scenic views of Ol Doinyo Lengai mountain. Return to your lodge for the night.
Day 2: Lake Natron exploration
After your breakfast, you will head out to explore Lake Natron and its surrounding areas. The lake is a good spot for bird lovers as it is an important breeding ground for thousands of pink flamingos which can count to millions during the breeding season painting the lake pink, a beautiful sight. Other birds can be spotted near the lake. Take a walk along the shores of Lake Natron and to the Ngaresero River which pours its water into the alkaline lake. During this walk, you could spot some wildlife like baboons, zebras and wildebeests. You can opt to visit a Maasai village before you return to your lodge for an overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Manyara national park – Game drive
Early morning departure from Lake Natron with a packed meal. You will drive to Lake Manyara national park, one of the most visited parks in the North of Tanzania. You will embark on a game drive on arrival in the park exploring its different habitants and areas around the soda lake that cover about two-thirds of the park area.
Expect to see wildebeests, zebras, elephants, lions, buffalos, giraffes, baboons, monkeys, hippos, waterbucks, flamingos and many other birds while on your game drive. You will enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild and then continue with your game drive experience, by sunset, you will be driven to your lodge where you will spend the night in Lake Manyara national park.
Day 4: Morning game drive and Departure
You will be up early before sunrise. Embark on a game drive that will give you a chance to catch up with the night dwellers of Lake Manyara national park and the predators on a morning hunt. Return to the lodge, have breakfast and then exit the park driving back to Arusha. End of safari.
