Gates of Lake Manyara national park – Lake Manyara national park has 2 park gates, that is the Northern and Southern gates. These are the gates used by visitors to access this national park for game safaris. The gates are open from 6:00am to 6:00pm.

Northern Gate

  • This is Lake Manyara’s main gate as it is the most used gate of the 2 by visitors accessing the park.
  • It is located in the North region of the park.
  • The Northern gate is more developed and equipped with services that visitors to the park need like a visitor information center, the park entry fee payment point and park ranger guides.
  • There’s a café and washrooms at this park gate.
  • The Northern gate is located 10 minutes by road from the Lake Manyara Airport.
  • Located close to the Mto wa Mbu – Ngorongoro highway

Southern gate

  • As the name highlights, the Southern gate is located in the South region of the park.
  • It is the least used of the 2  gates because of its remote location and not so good road structures.
  • Mostly used by visitors transferring to Lake Manyara national park from Tarangire national park.
  • The Northern and Southern gates of Lake Manyara national park can be used for entry and exit by the visitors of the park.
